My head is spinning with plans for my daughter’s wedding. She’s away at school, so not only is she not here to consult with whenever I have questions, but she’s incredibly busy with school, looking for work, looking for a new apartment, and so on. She has trusted me with nearly every decision, and I’ve been nervous to get everything just right. Fortunately, one of the first, most important elements of the wedding – the Save the Date cards – came out absolutely PERFECT, thanks to Shutterfly!

I did Hannah’s engagement photos back in December, and we had a lot of fun. I must have taken more than 100 pictures, which made the process of weeding it down to a “top 10” kind of hard. Here’s one that I love, but didn’t quite make the cut:

We did eventually choose a handful of photos, and with a few directions from my daughter, I headed over to look at Save the Date cards at Shutterfly.

I thought at first I would be overwhelmed with the choices, but Shutterfly’s search functions made everything pretty simple. I knew I wanted to use 4+ pictures on 5×7 cardstock with square edges, with silver accents (one of her wedding colors). And POOF!, the “Sparkle Collage Save the Date” cards came up as one of a few results. They looked perfect! I walked through the simple process of uploading photos, adding text, proofing it, then pressing “Order.” It was after midnight, but I couldn’t help sharing my excitement!

When the big (surprisingly heavy!) box from Shutterfly arrived, I was legitimately squealing with excitement and anticipation. And I had every reason to – the cards came out PERFECT!!

OH MY GOODNESS, I’m just in love with these!! I was so nervous about my daughter trusting me with this big task, but Shutterfly absolutely came through for us! These cards are a great size (note: the 5×7 cardstock do not need extra postage. yay!), and I love that we were able to print a longer message on the back, directing family and friends to a website where they could learn more about the receptions -and- RSVP, as well as direct links to Hannah’s gift registries. For us, this eliminated the need to include any extra inserts or reply cards, which saved a lot of time.

I immediately mailed one of the cards to my daughter, and she LOVED it! Success! And I love how many family and friends have sent us notes after receiving the Save the Dates from Shutterfly, just to tell us how lovely they are!

As an added bonus, just a few days after ordering the Save the Date cards, I got an email from Shutterfly offering me 30 free 4×6 prints (just pay for shipping). I immediately thought of making individual prints of my daughter’s engagement photos to use as decorations at the wedding reception. I uploaded those photos and was happy to see how quickly they were printed and shipped back to us. And the quality is fantastic! I have become a bona fide fan of Shutterfly’s products and services!

With all I have left to plan for my daughter’s wedding, it is a HUGE relief to know the announcements have been sent, and that they turned out so beautiful. Many, many thanks to Shutterfly!
