Mother of the Bride

I don’t think I’ve made an official announcement on my blog, so here it is: my oldest daughter is getting married!

She and her fiancé have known each other for more than 6 years; they were youth together in our church, and were high school sweethearts. He left on a mission for our church, she left for college, and for a while we wondered if that would be the end of the story. But NO! He came home last fall, flew to visit her at college, and proposed! They are planning a spring wedding.

Are they young? Very. Does that concern me? Not in this case. You have to know the two of them – know their story together – to appreciate my confidence in them. But maybe now just take my word for it: they’re going to be ok (no matter how young they are!).

When they were here for winter break, my daughter asked me to take their engagement photos. I am by no means a professional, but I have a nice camera and a decent eye. We had fun together on this cold, foggy winter day, and I think the photos turned out pretty great. Here’s to young love, fun engagement photos, and my first turn at being Mother of the Bride!

I love these! Congrats to them! And kudos on the fantastic photos to you. The shoes one is my favorite.

    • Thank you, Alissa! We had talked about doing a shoe picture (I saw something like it on Pinterest), but what people may not know is that he is nearly a foot taller than her. We thought it would be cute if she were on her tippy-toes. 🙂

  • Very cool!

  • Beautiful pics!!! So. Great.

  • Gorgeous photos and a huge congratulations!
